This section is designed to detail a little more about the wider area for you - but the list is by no means exhaustive. Depending on the timings of your stay please note that not all of the amenities may yet be open. Whilst we will do our best to keep up to date with the opening timings of local places, please contact the amenity directly if you wish to confirm availability.

LOCAL TOWNS
Located within a 20 minute drive from Wincle are the Cheshire towns of Macclesfield and Congleton, the Staffordshire town of Leek; and the Derbyshire town of Buxton.
BUXTON
Billed as one of the most popular locations to visit in the Peak District; and Britains leading SPA town, Buxton has been a draw to tourists since the fifteenth century. Offering a stunning theatre and many independent local businesses; the town is also in the process of restoring the magnificent 'Crescent'. A £46 million restoration of a Grade 1 listed building that dominates the centre of the town and is widely recognised as one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the country. Due to open later in 2020 (circumstances allowing) it will incorporate a natural mineral water spa in the natural baths.
LEEK
A traditional market town well known for its collection of antique shops it also offers a host of independent shops, cafes and bars. Leek is one of the first towns outside of West Yorkshire to adopt the Totally Locally campaign and build the value of shopping locally which has had a significant impact on the success of its markets and retail.
PEAK PARK ACTIVITIES
Nestling in the centre of the country and offering a landscape ranging from intensely rural to the City of Derby; the Peak National Park offers a comprehensive range of activities but is perhaps most well known for its diverse walking.
PEAK PARK BOUNDARY WALK
Officially opened in 2017, the Peak Park Boundary walk covers the full boundary of the Nations' first National Park. Covering a distance of 190 miles, and ranging from the limestone scenery of the Derbyshire dales, through to Staffordshire's rugged moorland and the undulating pastureland of the 'White peak' in Cheshire; Whitelee Farm is on stage 17 of the 20 routes that have been split into roughly 10 mile sections.
THE THREE SHIRES
One mile as the crow flies from Wincle is the Three Shires head - a passage of water where the 3 counties of Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire meet.
WATER SPORTS
In close proximity there are two areas offering great water sports facilities - 3 miles away in Meerbrook at Tittesworth Watersports centre there are a wide range of sporting activities available - ranging from paddle boarding through to windsurfing and hiring of dinghies.
At Rudyard Lake in Rudyard they offer training courses for those wishing to learn to sail and it also offers a miniature railway and a great walk around the lake.

MANCHESTER
Build as 'The original Modern City', Manchester the birthplace of the industrial revolution continues to delight and surprise with its phenomenal range of activities. STOKE ON TRENT
Known affectionately as 'The Potteries', there is a rich industrial heritage particularly in Ceramics; which is a thriving hub of industry for the City today. SHEFFIELD
Located to the East of the Peak National Park and just outside the boundary, Sheffield is just over an hour from the farm across the rugged hills.
