HEN CLOUD
SHEPHERD HUT

Anchor 1

Our 'Hen Cloud' Shepherd Hut is so named for its intoxicating views from every window; including across to the Roaches and to the landmark Hen Cloud. Upon arrival to the veranda you feel at one with the countryside, a part of the patchwork of rural life that is right outside your French doors.

There is no denying that your neighbour's can be a talkative lot - immersed as you are into working pastureland, you will find yourselves of great interest to the locals - normally calves and lambs in the Spring and Summer; and pheasants and deer in the Autumn and Winter.

With such a unique Peak District experience, this luxury haven is perfect for a break away from it all. As such we have deliberately chosen not to equip 'Hen Cloud' with Television or wifi - this is a space where you can truly switch off, relax and savour your amazing surroundings.

Both of our huts are superbly equipped for a compact space. The kitchen offers all that you could need for your stay: from a fridge complete with ice tray and fresh ice on your arrival, to a gas oven with grill and hob all surrounded by a honed granite work top. Fully equipped, you will also find plenty of storage for any goodies that you may have bought with you. You will find the ensuite bathroom has all the amenities that you could wish for in a luxury establishment: gas powered hot shower, flushing toilet, sink and heated towel rail. All towels are provided.

To the immediate right of the oak French doors is the log burner. Small and compact in its own surround, this log burner can not only boil a kettle for you when lit, but the arm to the right of it is also a great way to keep a pot of tea or coffee warm on cold, wet, days.

Complete with a dining table for four by day, which at night transforms into a sumptuous kingsize bed in 2 easy steps (unhook the table, pull down the bed, hey presto!). In this area there are also 2 windows for you to enjoy the view from - one is covered by the bed that folds into the wall during the day.

*Please note that due to our remoteness, there is very limited phone reception in 'Dane Valley' Some mobile signals may work. A land line can be available on request. We regret that due to the nature of stepped access to this building it is not suitable for those with mobility issues. We also do not accept pet in either of our huts.
