Coming to life

One benefit of a long planning process (we didn't think we would ever be writing that) is that it has enabled us to have lots of time to plan how we want our huts to look. Today we have been to look at the bespoke oak base that has been created for our huts. Incredibly exciting to see the vision beginning to come together - even at its most basic level!

There is no doubt that a Shepherd Hut is a compact space, but by working with a talented craftsman it is incredible the amount that can be fitted in, without the space becoming congested.

The plans include:

- a king size bed which will drop down from the wall, to enable a seating area to be created by day and a sumptuous sleeping area by night.

- ensuite bathroom comprising of 900mm shower base, half wall toilet, sink, shaver point, and gloriously a heated towel rail.

- well equipped kitchen, featuring a gas oven and hob, fridge (including ice box) and of course a sink! All topped off with a smooth honed granite work surface.

- a quirky little log burner - perfect for the space and hopefully only needed in Winter - but with our summers you never quite know...
